In water purification treatment systems, precise monitoring of water flow is one of the key links to ensure the efficient and stable operation of the entire treatment process. The FS series flow switches produced by Yuanben Company, with their outstanding performance and rich structures, have demonstrated significant application value in the field of water purification treatment.-Flow switch for water purification treatment
Advantages of the FS Series Flow Switch
The FS series flow switch is made of various materials such as stainless steel, brass, and plastic, which can meet the corrosion resistance requirements under different water quality and working conditions. Its unique deformation structure design effectively solves the problem that traditional piston-type flow switches are prone to being clogged by particles, which is of great significance for the possible interference of impurities in the water purification process. The features of low starting flow and low pressure loss in the flow channel enable the flow switch to maintain accurate flow monitoring under low flow and low pressure conditions. This provides reliable guarantees for some links in the water purification system that have high requirements for flow accuracy, such as the flow control of chemical addition in the pretreatment stage and the monitoring of feed water flow in the reverse osmosis system.
The Application of Flow Switches in Various Stages of Water Purification Treatment
1. Pre-treatment Stage
In the pre-treatment stage of water purification, it is usually necessary to conduct preliminary operations such as filtration and sedimentation on the raw water to remove large particles and some suspended substances. At this stage, flow switches can be installed at the inlet and outlet of the filter. By monitoring the flow rate in real time, operators can accurately grasp the working status of the filter. For instance, when there is a significant difference between the inlet and outlet flow rates, it may indicate that the filter media inside the filter is clogged and requires timely cleaning or replacement. Additionally, in the chemical dosing system, flow switches can precisely control the dosing flow rate to ensure that the chemicals are thoroughly mixed with the raw water, achieving the desired pre-treatment effect and enhancing the operational efficiency of subsequent treatment units.
2. Reverse Osmosis System
Reverse osmosis technology is one of the core links in water purification treatment, and it has strict requirements for the flow rate and pressure of the feed water. The application of flow switches in reverse osmosis systems mainly lies in the precise monitoring of the feed water flow rate. By installing a flow switch at the outlet of the high-pressure pump, real-time feedback of the feed water flow rate information can be obtained, working in conjunction with pressure sensors to ensure that the reverse osmosis membrane operates under appropriate flow and pressure conditions. Once abnormal fluctuations in flow occur, such as too low flow rate which may lead to intensified concentration polarization on the membrane surface and affect the desalination effect; or too high flow rate which may cause mechanical damage to the membrane. The flow switch can promptly issue an alarm, alerting the operator to take corresponding measures, such as adjusting the speed of the high-pressure pump or checking for leaks in the pipeline, thereby extending the service life of the reverse osmosis membrane and ensuring the stability of the produced water quality.
3. Post-treatment Stage
In the post-treatment stage, such as disinfection and mineralization processes, flow control is equally indispensable. Take ultraviolet (UV) disinfection as an example; it is necessary to ensure that the water flows through the UV lamp at an appropriate speed to guarantee sufficient UV exposure and achieve effective sterilization. A flow switch can be installed on the inlet pipe of the UV disinfection equipment to precisely control the flow rate and prevent the disinfection effect from being compromised due to excessive or insufficient flow. In the mineralization process, a flow switch can be used to monitor the flow rate of the mineralization agent solution, ensuring that the mineralization agent is uniformly mixed with the water in the predetermined proportion, so that the produced water meets the required mineral content standards.
