    Application

    IADS-02X40R tilt sensor is a dual-axis high-precision digital tilt sensor developed by Shanghai Yuanben Magnetoelectric Technology Co., Ltd. It adopts MEMS technology to provide multi-axis tilt sensor. Sensor communication through the CAN bus using the SAE J1939 protocol, through a 4-pin connector connection.

    Reliability:

    The IADS-02X40R tilt sensor is a glass-filled composite plastic structure that is strong and corrosion resistant. The sensor is very rugged and can withstand rugged applications. In order to prevent moisture, electronic equipment layer has a conformal coating, the shell using spin welding technology seal, can resist harsh environment. When these are installed on the right side up and down, the sensor functions to provide IP69k protection for exposed outdoor applications, and when installed up and down, the IP68 rating. In addition, the design has a high level of EMI protection.

    Installation

    The IADS-02X40R tilt sensor has two different operating angles: ± 10 ° options and 2 or 90 ° options. All options have three mounting holes in tripod mode to facilitate horizontal mounting and a 4-pin sealed connector. These features enable it to be installed or removed in the field.

    1. Installation

    2.1 Working environment

    Without additional protection, the IADS-02X40R tilt sensor should not be submerged in any liquid, and its operating temperature sensor range is - 40 ~ + 85 ℃.

     

    2.2 CAN bus

    The IADS-02X40R tilt sensor has two different operating angles: ± 10 ° options and 2 or 90 ° options. All options have three mounting holes in tripod mode to facilitate horizontal mounting and a 4-pin sealed connector. These features enable it to be installed or removed in the field.

    2.3 Power supply

    The power supply requirements for the IADS-02X40R tilt sensor are shown in Table 2.1. Operating in 12V or 24V system, can work in 6.5V ~ 36V power range.

    2.4 connector

    The IADS-02X40R tilt sensor uses Deutsch DT series connectors with pins shown in Figure 2.1.

    2.5 Installation requirements

    · Erection torque
    It is important to tighten the mounting fasteners to prevent vibration and loosening. No more than 135 in-lbs (15.3Nm)
    Note: Do not use impact wrenches as this type of equipment may damage the equipment.
    ·  Mounting surface
    It is important to install surfaces that are flat, clean, and clear of any defect angle readings that may cause errors.

    NOTE: 

    (1) Do not install on metal with a surface smoothness greater than 0.010 inches (0.254 mm).

    (2) Avoid mounting on metal less than 1/8 "(3.175 mm) thick, as this can cause excessive vibration.

    · Erection direction

    The 2-axis tilt sensor must be mounted horizontally grounded below the sensor, and the 3-axis tilt sensor must be mounted horizontally up or down, as shown in Figure 2.2.

    2.6 Installation verification

    Due to manufacturing tolerances, the installation needs to be evaluated to verify that the output signal is within acceptable error ranges to ensure that the sensors are properly installed. If the equipment is not horizontal after installation, coordinate offset adjustment can be made. For an example of how to adjust offsets, see Section 4.3.
